Re: Tim Russert
Witnessing the unending praise of the late Tim Russert has confirmed to me how key the mainstream media is in promoting the actions of the state and defending its crimes. Just read the copious complements coming from leading government elites. Even the Emperor, was not at a loss for a kind word. How can I take seriously a journalist who seems to be so loved by those who willfully destroy the freedom, lives, and fortunes of others on a daily basis- and call it democracy? Shouldn’t a worthy journalist have spent his career exposing the crimes and inherent evil of state institutions rather than mediate its silly, freak show debates among political partisans?
Instead, Mr. Russert made a nice living for accomplishing the following:
Promoting the idea that the American state is a legitimate authority over all matters of individual’s lives, no matter how minute the subject of concern.
Promoting the false left-right paradigm instead of the truth.
Promoting the idea that state domination of individual lives is a necessity for survival.
Promoting the idea that the needs of the nation-state collective (as perceived by the ruling state elites) outrank the needs of individuals (as perceived by those individuals).
It’s a dark period of loss for friends and family of Mr. Russert but, by default, his absence from the broadcasting pulpit allows the light of truth to shine a bit brighter.
