Will “Smart Tech For the Home” Make Us Happier, Healthier, Safer, And Save Us Money Like The Tech Companies Claim?
““But taking my head out of the tech press and reading such a broad, consumer level cover-all of the smarter home, I was nagged by the thought that a modern surveillance state isn’t so much being forced on us, as it is sold to us device by device, with the idea that it is for our benefit.” If you consider the real effects of it all, it is more like “surveilled, monitored, lulled to passivity, commodified, and monetized” really. So, no thanks, Silicon Valley, I can think and act for myself just fine.
