"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." ~ H.L. Mencken
Why Don't Bernie and Progressives Live Communally Here and Now?
Submitted by Westernerd on Thu, 2016-04-21 03:00
In a libertarian, Hoppean private-law society, voluntary "socialist" arrangements would be perfectly allowable and legal, but libertarian communites are not permitted in statist ones...That is the fundamental difference between liberty and socialism, between voluntaryism and collectivism, between statism and private property. Nothing prevents progressives from living as they wish now, except the very things they viciously oppose: decentralization, secession, and local control.
