Statism is the belief that government, in principle, is a good, or at least, necessary, thing that can solve the problems that arise between individuals. Further, it is the belief that only a state can do those things. In reality, even the smallest, most "limited" states do not only not protect rights or solve problems well, they don't do it at all!
