U.S. Colonial Possession Declaring Bankruptcy, Looking At U.S. Taxpayers for Relief

It's hard to figure overseas colonies. Do you own them, or in the end, do they own you? Puerto Rico was acquired by the U.S. gov as swag following the 1898 war with Spain. It's more than past time to nudge P.R. out of the nest and have it become an independent entity.
