"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." ~ H.L. Mencken
Thoughts on Libertarian Social Justice
The author, a putative libertarian, argues that: “social justice” = “redistributive justice” but that this may not be all bad. Seizing wealth from some and giving it to others probably would lift more boats than it lowers? True enough, but these attempts to impose material equality end up being a cure worse than the disease it purports to cure, especially so over time. Don’t these guys read history? (Cf. Venezuela currently)
