"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." ~ H.L. Mencken
Student Involved in Razor Incident Will Return to School Friday
Submitted by Bradley Keyes on Fri, 2014-03-21 00:00
Please homeschool...A Virginia Beach sixth grader who came to the aide of a classmate who was cutting his arm will now return to school Friday after initially facing expulsion for her actions. Last Thursday at Bayside Middle School, Adrionna Harris took a razor from the student, threw it away and convinced him what he was doing wasn’t right.
Instead of getting praise from the school administration, Adrionna got a 10 day suspension with recommendation for expulsion.

It is worth noting that the default zero-tolerance response to an act of compassion was immediate punishment. A manual override had to be engaged to stop it. Without such hasty intervention, the hero would have been libeled by her permanent record for the remainder of her academic career.
