President Obama’s Top 5 Broken Campaign Promises
Of course I do realize that a politician breaking campaign promises isn’t news, just standard operating procedure. What is, however, interesting about the article is the specific promises mentioned – a very clear demonstration that there is no substantive difference between Republicans and Democrats. There is nobody to vote for if you oppose the war(s), if you oppose the Orwellian-named Patriot Act, if you oppose torture, the Guantanamo prison, etc. and so on, because BOTH parties support those things. Voting does not bring change. It is theater, the illusion of some semblance of control offered mockingly to the masses. Personally, I call myself a conscientious objector when it comes to voting. I support complete and total noncompliance on every level possible, most especially when it comes to giving the State money. We all have our limitations when it comes to noncompliance, what we are willing to lose or be imprisoned for. These are personal, individual decisions. But, every act of noncompliance is a small victory and I thank you all for each and every one, great and small.
