"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." ~ H.L. Mencken
Our Year of Extremes: Did Climate Change Just Hit Home?

Global heating and cooling is a natural cycle that has gone on for time immemorial. Medieval monks kept careful records, revealing global heating, cooling and climate change patterns and events powerful enough to change the course of social, economic and political history. The flood story deep in the ancient past of so many cultures probably reflects a climate change event of (pun with a friendly wink and smile fully intended) biblical proportions. It is laughable to think that we caused global warming/cooling/climate change or that we can do anything real about it.
