"I saw a bumper sticker the other day that read, 'My Grandson is serving in the military.' That sounds noble, no? Serving is a word that works well in a restaurant setting. A 'server' approaches you and asks you what you?d like. If, in place of a lobster bib, he placed a black bag over your head and attached electrodes to your genitals, or drew a weapon and blew your head off, that would be more like the 'serving' being done in Iraq and Afghanistan."
