"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." ~ H.L. Mencken
Intelligence Bill May Hinge on Immunity for Telecoms
?An intelligence bill the Senate is scheduled to take up after it returns Dec. 3 would block Americans from learning details of any warrantless surveillance program the federal government conducted after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, the American Civil Liberties Union says.? So...imagine this. Your employees, the ones you pay with your own money, refuse to tell you the details of work they do supposedly on your behalf. Do you keep renewing their contract and hope they do better? Do you wait until their contract runs its course, years later? Or do you fire them immediately for insubordination and for violating the terms of the contract that they agreed to when sworn in, whoops, I mean when they signed on the dotted line?
