"First they came for the Communists,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me,
and by that time there was no one
left to speak up for me."

Missouri House to Address Drug Testing for Welfare Recipients
Submitted by Michael Kleen on Fri, 2011-01-14 03:00
One of the first bills that will come before the Missouri House this year calls for drug testing of some federal welfare recipients. The bill, which passed at the committee level today 11-4, would require that welfare applicants and recipients be screened for illegal drugs if there is "reasonable cause to believe" that they are using drugs. Screening would be overseen by the Department of Social Services.
