“David Walker, the onetime Comptroller General of the United States, says runaway spending in Washington will have a crippling effect on Americans one and two generations from now. If Congress does not change its spending habits now, Walker said, everyone's tax bills will be higher in the future. 'If we don't end up reforming our ways, federal taxes will have to double within the next 20 to 30 years, just to stop the bleeding.'”
