A Few Great Historical Myths
That is why the people can be fooled by the same money games and the same political games over and over and over. Most are unfamiliar with history, with its rhythms and cycles, its echoes and patterns. Understanding history really does make a difference in perspective, offering a far deeper understanding of the present, increased ability to assess potential consequences of actions over time, and often allows a person to see subtle signs that the non-historically inclined are likely to miss, information that can help a person recognize what's on the edge of the political or financial horizon a bit sooner than most.
