"First they came for the Communists,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me,
and by that time there was no one
left to speak up for me."

The new law would give sweeping powers to the State Department and Pentagon to push television, radio, newspaper, and social media onto the U.S. public. “It removes the protection for Americans,” says a Pentagon official who is concerned about the law. “It removes oversight from the people who want to put out this information. There are no checks and balances. No one knows if the information is accurate, partially accurate, or entirely false.”
Horrors! Wouldn't want them "protections" from the media we've been giving 'em all these years removed, now would we -- checks and balances and all? (heh heh heh) Want 'em to keep believin' all that information is accurate. Yes sir ree, bob!
Talk about a dominant social theme. Anybody wonder why I've not owned a television or allowed one in my house for over 35 years?
