Of course the reality is that when secession is being discussed, constitutionality is just as moot as statute is. One is seceding from not only the country, but also its constitution. It's silly to think otherwise. There are not, and never have been, any constitutional barriers to secession, in any country.

The only difference we may have is that "one is NOT seceding from the country", unless we define "country" as the ”a nation or state”
