"First they came for the Communists,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me,
and by that time there was no one
left to speak up for me."

Can Detroit Return To Its Former Glory?
Submitted by Sharon Secor on Mon, 2013-07-22 01:00
Not likely, considering that “in Detroit in the last census, 1 in 4 people hadn't graduated high school. That compares with 1 in 10 in the state of Michigan. Thirty-six percent of Detroiters live below the federal poverty level, compared with 16 percent statewide... Detroit right now is collecting half the income tax money that it was just 12 years ago.” Taxpayers are leaving in droves.
