The death of Muhammad Ali reminds me of another example that ought to have been included in this Blog (not that there was room): the case of the government soldier.
 
He is conditioned to believe (in boot camp, if not before) that it is a good and honorable thing to give (or at least to risk) his life for his country; to kill upon command. What utter, tragic rubbish.
