God is Mad at America!
Pat Robertson makes a lot of stupid comments that do more to discredit him and his beliefs than all of his secular humanist and religious-left opponents combined. However many people, while they dismiss his remarks, often give ‘ol Reverend Pat a pass given his grandfatherly appearance and his obvious senescence.
But how to explain some damn stupid remarks along the same lines by New Orleans mayor Ray Nagin recently? Hmmm, I wonder if Nagin is in for the same round of idiot jokes from Letterman, Leno, the Daily Show, and the rest?
You don’t suppose his race will cause most critics to restrain themselves lest they be thought racist or insensitive? Nah that’d never happen in modern America would it?

Of course Nagin will have an easier time of it, although he can expect to be excoriated by conservatives for claiming that God is angry with us over the Iraq war (which he almost certainly is).
If David Duke had said that New Orleans should be rebuilt as a "vanilla" city, everyone would be up in arms, but Nagin can get away with claiming New Orleans for blacks.
On the other hand, Nagin did have some valuable things to say, things that will be completely ignored by the so-called black leadership of America:
Nagin described an imaginary conversation with King, the late civil rights leader.
"I said, `What is it going to take for us to move on and live your dream and make it a reality?' He said, `I don't think that we need to pay attention any more as much about other folks and racists on the other side.' He said, `The thing we need to focus on as a community black folks I'm talking about is ourselves.'"
Nagin said he also asked: "Why is black-on-black crime such an issue? Why do our young men hate each other so much that they look their brother in the face and they will take a gun and kill him in cold blood?"
The reply, Nagin said, was: "We as a people need to fix ourselves first."
Nagin also said King would have been dismayed with black leaders who are "most of the time tearing each other down publicly for the delight of many."

Imagine that four F5 tornados have ripped through Dallas, TX, causing catastrophic damage. I write an op-ed piece in the local newspaper that says the following:
“It’s time for us to come together. It’s time for us to rebuild Dallas the one that should be a white Dallas. This city will be a majority white American city. It’s the way God wants it to be. You can’t have Dallas no other way. It wouldn’t be Dallas.”
What are the odds that I’d would be accused of being a racist? Maybe MLK’s dream has come true-
blacks can get away with anything.
