Pat,
"Silent Cal" sure. But Harding? His brief administration saw more people go to jail for corruption than any other until Nixon's came along. Why did you pick him?

As Harding himself said, "My God, this is a hell of a job! I have no trouble with my enemies, but my damn friends, they're the ones that keep me walking the floor nights."
There is no evidence that Harding himself profited, but as for corruption itself, it is a wonderful phenomenon. What better way to convince the people of the uselessness and inherently degenerate nature of the State than scandal after scandal showing how the rottenest apples rise to the top of the barrel. I greet political scandals with glee, relishing every sliver chipped away from the populace's faith in the State and the inevitably corrupt thugs who run it.
Harding was a terrific President, and we need more like him!
