Two Success Stories From Iraq
As we all know, the major media is obsessed with reporting only the bad news from Iraq and completely ignores all the good news coming out of there. (Just ask Sean Hannity, who just last week was lamenting this fact once again.) In the interest of rectifying this situation, I submit the following two stories for your consideration:
- The Washington Post: "Acute malnutrition among young children in Iraq has nearly doubled since the United States led an invasion of the country 20 months ago, according to surveys by the United Nations, aid agencies and the interim Iraqi government. . . . Iraq's child malnutrition rate now roughly equals that of Burundi, a central African nation torn by more than a decade of war. It is far higher than rates in Uganda and Haiti."
- The Chicago Tribune: "In recent months, tens of thousands of Iraqis have made similar decisions [to leave Iraq], some spurred by the hazards of daily life in Iraq, some by their personal experiences of kidnapping or armed robbery, and others simply because they see no future in a country that seems to grow more violent with each passing day."
