It would serve us all well if every American would get it through his head that the two parties are Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. Then we could have a serious debate about the issues. As long as people continue to "debate" on the basis of which political party is running things, the real Left is going to prevail.

The U. N. is worse than worthless. The Left right now is primarily using the U. N. as a way to support the war (because the Left is interventionist at heart) without supporting the Bush administration. The Right used the U. N. as one of its excuses for going to war even as the U. N. refused to give its imprimatur to the effort. 'Twould be better to get rid of the U. N. and have smaller, slightly more manageable "mob families" with which to deal. At least then the proponents of foreign intervention would have to admit that they're doing things out of their own interest and not use the U. N. as a crutch.
