Some other points to make regarding Mr. Boortz's column:

1. He claims that the Democrats are the ones telling the rest of the world to go take a flying leap. He seems not to recall that it was a Republican president who told the U. N. to stuff it. I'm not doubting that a Democrat might very well have taken the same approach, but it was most definitely not a Democrat who did it most recently.

2. He says "Saddam will soon renew his production of weapons of mass destruction and his attempts to build nuclear weapons." Which WMDs? Which nukes? The ones he hasn't had since 1991? Mr. Boortz, there are no WMDs in Iraq, and there haven't been for a long, long time. Ask Hans Blix or David Kay.

3. "Our actions today will undoubtedly lead to another terrorist attack on our home soil." You are absolutely correct, Mr. Boortz, except that the actions that will lead to the attack are the very ones the current Republican administration is pursuing.

4. "To prevent such an attack, we will be taking even more draconian security measures in our homeland." Again, it's a Republican administration (with the consent of most Democrats in Congress) that has been taking "draconian security measures in our homeland."

5. Finally, he claims that the Democrats are the ones turning their backs on the Founding Fathers because they refuse to fund a government program of foreign aid. Excuse me, but weren't the Founding Fathers the ones counseling against entangling alliances? Weren't they the ones who told us that war is the very worst possible government program? Weren't they the ones who led the fight for a severely limited government, one which could not tax the people to send their money overseas? Weren't they the ones who set up the requirement that Congress, not the president, must declare war?

Mr. Boortz, whatever libertarian principles you once had have gone out the window and been replaced by GOP boosterism. Do you not see the contradiction between opposing government intervention at home and supporting government intervention abroad? If every other government program can be counted on to fail and cause even worse problems than it set out to solve, why wouldn't government wars? I guess we can say you've "grown," as all conservative politicians are said to have done as they have abandoned their principles in favor of good press and invitations to Georgetown cocktail parties. Unfortunately, once you've grown, your libertarian suit no longer fits.

I agree. I stomached Boortz' idiotic arrogance long enough to figure out what he really stood for. Money! I live in metro Atlanta and if you were in the local listening area you'd hear Boortz in all kinds of radio commercials for various businesses on WSB 750 AM (the local station that carries his show). You can search online and find Boortz' name tied to other Republicans as they obviously share the same philosophy.

Yeah, he was wrong, like the adminstration, about the WMD lies used to help justify the Iraq war. Now Boortz is following the same logic as the Bush administration - the war was justified anyway, despite the misinformation (whether intentional or not).

A libertarian? Here's Boortz line - trash the liberals, love and support the president, while rarely or never mentioning or publicly endorsing libertarian candidates, either locally or nationally, on his talk show.

This guys is just a Zell Miller on talk radio. Will sell out his political party if it means making an extra buck. What a disgrace!
