"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." ~ H.L. Mencken
Bad Sex Ed
Ah, the things teachers and coaches teach children about sex. You’ll find an assortment of often very funny sexual misinformation offered by educators to their students, such as “our health teacher, Mr. S, explained to us that girls should not masturbate because it would make them lose any desire/need for boys.” HA HA HA!!! Of course, the health teacher is straight up wrong. Women having difficulty achieving orgasm are often advised to masturbate by the health care professionals they consult on the matter, because that way they learn how their bodies work and can translate that knowledge into more satisfying sexual relationships. And, actually, this thought just occurred to me… if the goal of these educators, particularly those at Catholic schools was to limit promiscuity (however that is defined) and encourage their students to get and stay married, would it not be sensible to provide them the accurate, useful information they need to have satisfying sexual relationships, which could have a significant positive impact on the overall satisfaction they felt in their primary relationship, helping it to last longer and be stronger?
