Jeff Langr's Columns
"So, while most of us will agree that this ruling is plain wrong, we see the solution as putting 'our side' in power. This is the sickness of the belief in democracy." Column by Jeff Langr.

"For all the whining about corporate monopolies, the state has a real problem with competition. Dare to threaten state-sponsored corruption (alcohol, gambling, tobacco) and you run the risk of incurring their wrath. Ultimately the guns and laser sights are all about making sure you recognize that the state has to get its cut. In that vein, among many others, it's clear that the state is very similar to organized crime. In fact, the state is far more dangerous than organized crime, since there's not much that can stop their oppression." Column by Jeff Langr.
"Poor service abounds, but I'm usually pleased at the way the marketplace handles it. Businesses that abuse their customers usually don't last long. Businesses that treat their customers with respect thrive. But with government, you have no choice, and there are no repercussions for bad customer service. You're forced to deal with them...." Column by Jeff Langr.
Recommended "Every vote for the president is wasted. The system is corrupt. Stay home and exercise your freedom as a human being to not vote for he who will oppress you. Nothing will ever improve until you wake up. Your life is not owned by those who lay claim to it." Column by Jeff Langr.
"You can choose to believe that other humans have the right to make you suffer, or you can choose life. Governments and religions provide the best sources for suffering. The best source for life is personal freedom and desire." Column by Jeff Langr.
"There would no doubt be failures in a non-statist system. But at least there would be no opportunity for those in power to add insult to injury like they currently do, by ramming their political agendas down the throats of impressionable children." Column by Jeff Langr.
"Bring it all home. Bring the troops home. Bring the money home....We are the Roman Empire of the modern world. Close all of the bases. Leave the UN and NATO, too. Now, before our Rome falls. It's time to concentrate on defending this soil and only this soil. Screw the rest of the world—despite our arrogant presumptions, they just might be smart enough to sort out their own troubles." Column by Jeff Langr.
"The trend in reality shows is to humiliate people more and more, and to push people into making more and more foolish choices in front of millions of viewers." Column by Jeff Langr.
Separation and Coalescence, Part I
Part I of a series by Jeff Langr about the separation of school and state.
"The level of venom in this country increases daily, and I'm sickened by it every time I read the news and op-eds. Hysteria, hyperbole, and hatred are the flavors of the day. One could accuse me of contributing to the negativity, but I am saddened by how much we turn against each other when we should have a common enemy. My attacks are centered at those who try to control the lives of the rest of us." Column by Jeff Langr.
"I am getting screwed. I'm nowhere within reach of what I consider wealthy, yet my government treats me like I am." Column by Jeff Langr.
"Today, environmentalists want you to purchase costlier organic food that comes from organic farms....But their goal is not to make you healthier. The environmentalists resist successful mass food production. Organic farming by definition takes considerably more land and generates far less produce. Less produce means less food to go around means more starving peasants dead sooner." Column by Jeff Langr.
"In the wake of Enron, WorldCom, and Global Crossings scandals, you've been inundated with the phrase "corporate greed." You've been led to believe that the solution is more government. Yet Microsoft and other corporations have no power over you. Far more dangerous than corporate greed is government greed, which leads to more government power over you." Column by new Root Striker Jeff Langr.
