The Empire's War with Iran

" What about the inherent irony of attacking a signatory to the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty (NPT) [Iran] in an alliance with Israel, the region’s premier nuclear and biological power and a non-signatory to NPT?"  Column by Mark Dankof.

Al Bawaba and the Berg Decapitation Photos

"Never before in the history of State-sponsored warfare and terrorism have sponsoring governments and constituencies faced more scrutiny of their stated motives and the subsequent moral and ethical decisions made on behalf of the people of the nations they claim to dutifully represent. There is a simple reason for this. In the Age of Internet Information, those who attempt to enshroud dark motives and morally reprehensible actions in theocratic, patriotic, and demonizing Manichean rhetoric, are perpetually contradicted by the free and open exchange of position papers, diverse perspectives, and yes, photographs--which enable the free and fair minded to shop for the truth in the open market of published and electronically accessible ideas."  Column by Mark Dankof.

Bush's Pals Are Panicking

"Joseph Farah of...World Net Daily provides the rest of us with yet another discernable clue of how late the hour is getting for the Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld-Perle cabal in Washington.  In a political earthquake of seismic proportions for The Cabal, Mr. Farah now admits he cannot support Mr. Bush for re-election after a year of cheerleading for the same, while glumly predicting a Democratic victory in November.  In a piece this past week entitled, Why Kerry Will Win, Mr. Farah acknowledges the increasingly desperate political state of Republican Presidential fortunes still six months away.  His own most recent front pages re-accentuate the familiar concerns of his Christian Right concerns on homosexual marriage, abortion-on-demand, homeschooling, crime, and drug addiction.  Enthusiastic and prominent coverage of the War on Terror and Mission Accomplished in Iraq have suddenly disappeared or been relegated to back page status.  The embarrassed silence is deafening."  Column by Mark Dankof.

Up With Sharon, Down With International Law

"The President does not explain how 'the right to self defense' applies to the Jewish State but not to 750,000 Palestinians who had their land forcibly expropriated in 1948.  Nor does he articulate any clear reasoning as to how the right of self defense in international law squares with Israel's ongoing illegal military actions in lands deemed under international law to be illegitimately occupied territories.  Neither does Mr. Bush explain why Israel continues to enjoy wholesale American political, economic, and military support in her routine employment of extra-judicial killings, incarceration, and torture in flagrant violation of Western legal ideas and methods involving legal arrest, formal indictment, trial, and honest jury conviction for capital crimes."  A hard-hitting column by new Root Striker Mark Dankof.
