A 60’ motor yacht, the Dignity, was carrying medical supplies, doctors and journalists to the besieged and starving people in Gaza who are currently being bombed day and night with American bombs and rockets dropped and fired  on and at them by the Jewish state of Israel. While on this humanitarian mission, Israeli state terrorists attacked them by ramming the Dignity with a navy patrol boat in international waters. Journalist Karl Penhaul, who was aboard the Dignity, said the Israelis shadowed them for about a half hour before putting a powerful spotlight on them and ramming them. The captain of the Dignity has no doubt it was an intentional attack on an unarmed vessel. The captain also said the Israeli state terrorists who attacked them said their attack was because those onboard the Dignity were involved in terrorist activities! Of course, the Israeli government denies this and says it was an accident, just as they either lie about or ignore the fact that they violated their peace agreement with Hamas by blockading the 1.5 million people living in Gaza , thus preventing them from getting enough food, water and medical supplies. It appears the Israeli blockade is because the Palestinian people voted for the wrong party when they overwhelmingly voted Hamas into power. So much for bringing democracy to the Middle East !

The US politicians who are beholden to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and the Israeli lobby for their jobs can be expected to do absolutely nothing about this state terrorism committed by Israel in international waters.  (For great insight on the overwhelming power of the Israeli lobby on Congress, read The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy.)  The Israeli attack on the Dignity has many parallels to the Israeli attack on the virtually unarmed U.S.S. Liberty back in 1967. Congress and President Johnson did nothing then, just as today’s politicians will do nothing now about the attack on the Dignity.

In the case of the U.S.S. Liberty, an American intelligence gathering ship that was flying the American flag, the Israeli military attacked it in international waters during the Six Days War. In the attack on the Liberty , the Israelis attacked from the air and water, killing 34 American sailors and Marines, four of whom are pictured at left, and were getting ready to land troops on deck by helicopter to finish off the survivors. The only reason they didn’t do this final deadly attack was because the crew of the Liberty was able to get a radio message off for help. Their desperate call for help was picked up by the U.S. Sixth Fleet. However, the US Sixth Fleet was forbidden to send any help by the White House for over 90 minutes while yet more American servicemen died and were wounded. This clearly demonstrates how little the politicians really care about those in the military!

One of the Liberty survivors, James M. Ennes, Jr., wrote a gripping book, Assault on the Liberty, which gives a moment by bloody and horrific moment account of this war crime committed by Israel . When I heard the victims onboard the Dignity were getting ready to go into life rafts, I recalled Assault on the Liberty, which tells what happened when the Americans attempted to put life rafts and life boats in the water during the Israeli assault on the Liberty – the Israeli military shot them out of the water! It seems Israel holds true to their god’s order to show no mercy!

In the case of the U.S.S. Liberty, the Israeli government said it was all a big mistake. In the case of the Dignity, Israel claims they never rammed the boat, that the captain and those on board are lying.  The Jewish state, like almost all governments, is very good at using the big lie technique. The big lie technique got the US into WWI, WWII, Vietnam, Iraq and I hope people will wake up in time to prevent it from getting us into war with Iran.
