7 Reasons Working Too Much Is Bad For Your Health
While they do list some significant reasons, they miss the most important ones. When your time-clocking or running the salary treadmill, there's not a whole lot of time left for thinking beyond the immediate day-to-day survival issues. That is exactly why our freedom is at risk, why we see the erosion of liberty. Work isn't my 'real' life, it finances my 'real' life. My real life is my people, my relationships, things that feed my soul and my mind. My real life is my leisurely mornings in which I have time to think, consider the world, contemplate the flow of the universe and my role within it. If I work too much, I can't bake bread, make tortillas, garden, sew. If I work too much, I don't have time to discuss political philosophy or theoretical physics with the children. There's no time for watching hummingbirds and cardinals. No time for living.
